i remember when I said i would always be there,
always waiting... and i remember when we promised to be together, but you always said....one day These flowers were meant for you and for our promise kept but even though these flowers wilt i remain true to my heart, and Always Waiting this is now my first Daily Deviation, i cannot thank you all enough, i am in shock Daily DeviationGiven 2009-01-23Always Waiting by *MPhilipPhotography is one of those portraits that will stay with you for a long time. The success of an emotional portrait is defined by how well it gets the message across and I think that with this particular one you can actually feel the heartbreak. I really really enjoy the negative space in this picture. It seems less "empty" and more "shapely". The composition of the piece is also very well done, with the flowers vertical like the figure, only there's those two little sunflowers that are different from the other one and have fallen down.
The lighting is great. it's nice and soft on the hands and knees and face, while letting the shoulders slip into the shadows.
The only thing I would change about this piece is the face that we can see the edge of the wall in the background. If it was a smooth surface (such as a paper backdrop), that distraction wouldn't be there.
Overall, I think this is a visually stunning piece of art.
Keep up the good work!
